January 3, 2014: Blizzard
I woke at 4:45 this morning to a snowy wonderland, a car ensconced in drifts of white, and a mission: get to work. Before showering, I donned thermal shirt, jeans, boots and hat, gloves and shovel, and woke my husband from slumber to help. He drove me through whiteout conditions to work, where I joined my friends to produce our television program, the first live broadcast back since Christmas Eve. Driving home, I snapped this picture with my phone from the window of my friend’s Jeep, heading down a snowbound Main Street.
